Today, Representative Tim Bonner announced that the Mercer County Historical Society has received a $5,000 grant from America250PA. This grant is part of the initial round of Semiquincentennial Grants.

America250PA's Semiquin Grants aim to support educational and civic events that enhance Pennsylvania's celebration of the United States' 250th birthday in 2026.

"I am pleased to see Mercer County involved in the nation’s semiquincentennial celebration," Bonner stated. "Mercer County’s rich history played a significant role in the growth of our nation and these funds will go to preserving our history and accomplishments for generations to come."

The historical society, located in Mercer, offers extensive resources to the public. More information can be found on its website at mchsofpa.org/.

In Spring 2025, America250PA plans to distribute an additional $510,000 during its Semiquin Grant period from April 1 to May 15. Eligible applicants include any Pennsylvania municipality, county or nonprofit seeking support for projects aligned with education, preservation, innovation and celebration.
