State Representative Parke Wentling | Pennsylvania 7th Legislative District
Rep. Parke Wentling of Mercer has announced that several fire departments and emergency medical services (EMS) companies have been awarded funding through the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program.
The recipients include the Clark Volunteer Fire Department with $13,094.35, Elite EMS receiving $15,000, Farrell Volunteer Fire Department granted $13,094.35, Greenville Fire Department and EMS with $28,739.88, and Greenville Volunteer Fire Co. obtaining $12,448.81. Additional grants were awarded to Hempfield Township Volunteer Fire Department for $12,879.17, Hermitage Volunteer Fire Department at $28,322.02, Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department receiving $12,879.17, McGonigle Ambulance Service with a grant of $15,000, Patagonia Volunteer Fire Department at $13,094.35, Sharon Fire Department securing $16,322.02 in funds and Sharpsville Volunteer Fire Department with an award of $15,461.31. South Pymatuning Volunteer Fire Association received a grant of $12,448.81 while West Salem Fire Department was granted $12,879.17.
“This is amazing news for fire departments and EMS companies across the 7th Legislative District,” said Wentling. “This funding will be beneficial to all who receive it and will help support our first responders who bravely protect our community.”
The grant program is managed by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency along with the Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC). Eligible projects for this funding include construction or renovation of facilities for fire or ambulance companies as well as equipment purchase or repair training or reduction of existing debt.
