U.S. Representative Mike Kelly has recognized Chris Sirianni of Erie as the first recipient of the Community Champion Award for 2025. Sirianni, owner of The Brewerie at Union Station, was acknowledged for his contributions to the local craft beer industry and community involvement.

In 2014, Sirianni co-founded the Lake Erie Ale Trail to support the burgeoning craft beer scene in Northwest Pennsylvania. Under his leadership, the group expanded from four to 17 breweries before he stepped down from his executive role in January 2025.

Rep. Kelly, who co-chairs the House Small Brewers Caucus, praised Sirianni's efforts: "Chris has been at the forefront of the local craft brewery scene for years and is most deserving of this award," he stated. "It's important to remember that local breweries are also small businesses. Chris's hard work has created jobs, spurred economic growth in the Erie area, and has given back to the Erie community in numerous ways. I want to thank Chris for his dedication to the Erie community, and for his efforts to put our local breweries on the national stage."

During a ceremony at The Brewerie at Union Station, Kelly presented Sirianni with an American flag flown over the U.S. Capitol and a Congressional commendation. His achievement will also be recorded in the Congressional Record.

The Community Champion Award was established by Rep. Kelly's office in January 2015 to honor individuals within Pennsylvania's 16th Congressional District who make significant contributions to their communities. Recipients receive an award plaque, a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol, and a statement of congratulations entered into Congress's official records.
