Mike Kelly celebrates agriculture day and highlights local economic growth

Rep. Mike Kelly, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Pennsylvania's 16th district since 2011, shared several posts on social media recently addressing topics relevant to his constituents and national matters. Born in Pittsburgh in 1948, Kelly has been an active political figure and resides in Butler.

On March 18, 2025, Rep. Kelly extended his greetings to farmers across the country in celebration of National Agriculture Day. He expressed his appreciation with the statement: "Happy National Agriculture Day to all the farmers across Pennsylvania and these great United States! #NationalAgricultureDay".

The following day, March 19, he highlighted changes in immigration trends under President Trump's administration by stating: "Illegal border crossings are DOWN under President Trump."

Later that same day, Rep. Kelly commented on economic developments within Erie, Pennsylvania due to Opportunity Zones initiatives. He acknowledged Secretary Turner's contributions while reaffirming his commitment to continue this work through his role on the Ways and Means GOP Committee: "Opportunity Zones have transformed downtown Erie, PA in recent years. Thank you for focusing on this critical issue @SecretaryTurner! I'm committed to continuing our work on this critical issue on the @WaysandMeansGOP Committee. #opportunityzones"
