The Pennsylvania state Senate has approved a bill introduced by Senator Michele Brooks, which aims to extend the state's Lemon Law protections to include motorcycles. The legislation seeks to provide motorcycle buyers with the same consumer rights currently available to car purchasers.

"Motorcycle buyers deserve the same protections currently available to car purchasers under the state Lemon Law," stated Sen. Brooks. She emphasized that consumers purchasing motorcycles should not face reduced protection simply because their vehicles have two wheels instead of four.

Pennsylvania's existing Lemon Law safeguards customers who buy or lease cars registered in the state. It covers defects occurring within the first year or 12,000 miles of ownership or leasing, offering manufacturers three attempts to repair such issues. If unresolved, customers can receive a replacement vehicle or a refund. Currently, these protections apply solely to cars.

Senate Bill 155, introduced by Brooks, proposes extending these consumer protections to those purchasing motorcycles in Pennsylvania. Following its approval by the Senate, the bill will now proceed to the House of Representatives for further consideration.
