On April 12, 2025, U.S. Representative Mike Kelly honored Christine Krzysiak, the Crawford County Treasurer, as the latest Community Champion for the 16th Congressional District, recognizing her lengthy public service. Krzysiak plans to retire at the year's end after holding the treasurer position for 14 years.
"Christine embodies what it means to be a dedicated public servant," said Rep. Kelly. "Whether it's her role as Crawford County Treasurer, serving in her church, or becoming a mentor to young professionals across the region, she continues to put others first and strengthen our communities."
Krzysiak has been involved with public service for a significant portion of her career. She has served on the executive board of the County Treasurers’ Association of Pennsylvania (CTAP) for four years and was elected CTAP president in 2023. Since 2011, she has been a part of the Meadville Business and Professional Women, acting as their Treasurer for seven years, and she currently serves on their Audit Committee. Outside her professional duties, she is also an altar server at her church.
She began her work for Crawford County in the Clerk of Courts Office in 1984 and held the role of Venango Township Tax Collector from 2005 to 2011. Krzysiak is married with three grown children and one grandchild.
The Community Champion Award was established by Rep. Mike Kelly's office in January 2015. It acknowledges individuals throughout Pennsylvania's 16th Congressional District who have made significant contributions to their communities. Each awardee receives a citation, a U.S. flag that has flown over the Capitol, and a statement of congratulations in the Congressional Record.
Previously, in February, Rep. Kelly honored Chris Sirianni, an Erie businessman, for his role in supporting the craft beer industry through the Lake Erie Ale Trail, which he expanded from four to 17 local breweries. He stepped down from his position with the Lake Erie Ale Trail in January 2025.
Rep. Kelly also serves as the co-chair of the House Small Brewers Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives.
