WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump, chaired by Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) and Jason Crow (D-Colo.), requested documents and information from the Pennsylvania State Police as part of their investigation into the events surrounding July 13, 2024, in Butler, Pennsylvania. The Task Force has set a deadline for this information to be provided by September 16, 2024.
The letter sent to the Pennsylvania State Police seeks all documents and communications related to the Trump rally held on July 13, 2024. This includes details on planning, participation, post-event actions, and correspondence. Additionally, the Task Force is seeking documents relevant to any ongoing or completed criminal inquiries and investigations conducted by the Pennsylvania State Police concerning the attempted assassination.
This request follows similar ones made by the Task Force to the U.S. Secret Service (USSS) and the Department of Homeland Security in August, as well as requests to local law enforcement earlier this week.
