State Representative Parke Wentling | Pennsylvania 7th Legislative District

HERMITAGE – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced today that Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV, which serves all school districts in the 7th Legislative District, will receive $20,000 from the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) to support the development of special educators.
“As a former educator, I’m always happy to see more opportunities for young people to get involved in this rewarding profession,” Wentling said. “Special educators are always in demand, and tailoring programs to train students for this specific type of teaching will ensure the special educators of tomorrow are fully prepared once they reach the classroom.”
Grants were awarded to educational institutions interested in developing or expanding experiential learning opportunities to engage secondary and postsecondary students in learning about and/or working with students with disabilities.
