Senator Michele Brooks (R-50) announced today that Neshannock Township will be the recipient of a $1.26 million grant aimed at reducing traffic congestion and improving safety along Kings Chapel Road and Pulaski Road. The grant will facilitate traffic calming and safety enhancements in key areas identified by the township's comprehensive planning efforts.

"This project will help create new economic opportunities by overcoming the current heavy traffic congestion and safety issues that are present," stated Sen. Michele Brooks. She further expressed her gratitude for the collaboration with Neshannock Township, emphasizing the importance of the funding in unlocking the growth potential of the township while enhancing traffic safety.

The grant will specifically target improvements at the Route 422 and Pulaski Road intersection by introducing new turning lanes, signal enhancements, and realigning Kings Chapel Road near Millenium Park to provide direct access to the site. Township Supervisor Leslie Bucci expressed appreciation for Sen. Brooks' support, highlighting the positive economic impacts expected in the community as a result of the grant.

The grant, sourced from the Multimodal Transportation Fund, aims to enhance transportation assets, streetscape, lighting, sidewalk infrastructure, pedestrian safety, and connectivity of transportation assets. Established in 2004, the Commonwealth Financing Authority administers economic stimulus packages to support projects that stimulate economic growth and improve transportation infrastructure.

Neshannock Township and its residents anticipate the positive changes and economic benefits that will come with the implementation of the grant-funded safety and traffic improvements. For further information, interested parties can contact Adam Gingrich at 717-787-1322.
