The Mercer County Historical Society has received a $5,000 grant from America250PA, as announced by Representative Tim Bonner. This grant is part of the initial round of Semiquincentennial Grants aimed at supporting events and programs in Pennsylvania for the United States' 250th birthday celebration in 2026.

"I am pleased to see Mercer County involved in the nation’s semiquincentennial celebration," Bonner stated. "Mercer County’s rich history played a significant role in the growth of our nation and these funds will go to preserving our history and accomplishments for generations to come."

Located in Mercer, the historical society offers various resources to the public. More information can be found on its website at mchsofpa.org/.

America250PA plans to distribute an additional $510,000 during the Spring 2025 Semiquin Grant period. Applications will be accepted from April 1 to May 15. Eligible applicants include Pennsylvania municipalities, counties, or nonprofits with projects that align with America250PA's themes of education, preservation, innovation, and celebration.
