On Sunday, Mike Kelly, Chairman of the Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump, and Jason Crow, Ranking Member, appeared on CBS's "Face The Nation" to discuss their ongoing investigation. The Task Force is preparing to release its final report this week.
The investigation commenced following the attempted assassination of President-elect Donald J. Trump on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania. Since then, the Task Force has reviewed over 20,000 pages of documents and conducted 46 transcribed interviews with various agencies at local, state, and federal levels. Additionally, they have held a dozen briefings.
Two public hearings were organized by the Task Force. The first took place in September with local law enforcement who responded to the incident at the Butler rally. The second hearing was held on December 5 with U.S. Secret Service Acting Director Ronald Rowe.
