The Pennsylvania state Senate has approved a bill introduced by Senator Michele Brooks that seeks to extend the state's Lemon Law protections to motorcycles. This legislation, known as Senate Bill 155, now awaits the governor's signature to become law.

Currently, Pennsylvania's Lemon Law is applicable only to cars. The proposed bill aims to offer similar consumer protections for those who purchase motorcycles in the state.

"Many people save for years to purchase their motorcycle and they deserve the same consumer protections as other motorists," stated Brooks. "Extending Lemon Law protections to motorcycles is a matter of fairness and ensuring that all motorists are safeguarded in their investments."

Under the existing Lemon Law, customers who buy or lease a car registered in Pennsylvania are protected if they encounter defects within the first year or 12,000 miles of ownership. Manufacturers have three attempts within this period to repair any issues. If unresolved, consumers may be eligible for a replacement vehicle or refund.

The bill is now pending approval from the governor.
