Rep. Parke Wentling has announced the allocation of $8.5 million for improvement projects in Mercer County's 7th Legislative District. The funds are provided through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), a grant program managed by the Office of the Budget.
"While these projects vary, they're all aiming to make Mercer County a better place," Wentling stated. "This funding recognizes the important part these organizations play in our community."
The awarded RACP grants include $1 million to Alpine Springs Linesville LLC for expanding its recovery center to a 68-bed facility, and $6 million to Lindy Paving Inc. for constructing a new energy-efficient asphalt plant. Additionally, the City of Hermitage will receive $1.25 million for developing nine pickleball courts and enhancing parking and pedestrian access at the Hermitage Athletic Complex. Thiel College is set to receive $250,000 for renovating and expanding its Academic Center.
The RACP supports regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects through design, acquisition, and construction initiatives.
