Sen. Michele Brooks (R-50) is set to host a Senior Expo on Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Vernon Central Hose Company, located at 16589 McMath Ave., Meadville. The event will run from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The expo aims to provide seniors and caregivers with information about resources and programs offered by state government, local nonprofits, and community groups. Additionally, attendees can receive flu shots and participate in prize drawings hosted by vendors.
Free bone density tests and retinal screenings will be available for seniors.
“Oftentimes, seniors aren’t aware of the many government services that are designed to help them, and this expo provides a great opportunity to discover those resources,” Brooks stated. “They will be able to talk with vendors, as well as visit with friends and neighbors over light refreshments.”
The Veterans of the Vietnam War Post 52 will also be present to accept snacks and personal care items for troops.
“I look forward to seeing everyone again this year,” Brooks added.
