St. Michael Parish issued the following announcement on Feb. 4.
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Greetings! If you haven’t heard, Pope Francis has called the Church to a beautiful and monumental task. The “Synod on Synodality” has begun, and the Church wants to hear from every baptized person about their experience of how the Catholic Church has journeyed with them in their lives. We’re helping lead our community’s listening sessions for the synod, and you are invited.
We have been asked to serve as synod facilitators for St. Michael/St. Margaret, which means we are tasked with organizing meaningful opportunities to engage as many people as we can between now and March 2022. Here’s a 6-minute video out of the Church in India that explains the synod.
Why?
To develop the practice of becoming a “listening Church,” one that effectively journeys with its people.
Who is invited to participate?
All people of goodwill, Catholics who practice the faith or not and everyone in between
What is the commitment?
Join our parish for in-person/virtual small group discussions/listening sessions throughout the weeks ahead. You are invited to join in our process of prayerful conversation, discerning the voice of the Holy Spirit, sharing honestly from the heart, and listening deeply to one another. This is your chance to share your voice with the Church, and to listen deeply to the prayerful sharing of others.
When & Where?
March 1, 2022 (Zoom/In Person) at St. Michael from 6:30 to 8:00 PM
March 5, 2022 (In Person) at St. Michael from 1:30 to 3:00 PM
March 10, 2022 (In Person) at St. Margaret from 1:00 to 2:30 PM

Personally, we’re excited about this process because we believe it will be a great opportunity to reconnect and continue our journey with the Lord.
Please share this invitation with your family, friends, loved ones, and let them know how much you (and the whole Church!) would value their participation. And please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions
Sincerely,
