Senator Michele Brooks and Representative Parke Wentling have announced the authorization of Multimodal Transportation Fund grants for several infrastructure projects in Mercer County. Awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, these grants aim to boost transportation safety, connectivity, and economic development in the area.
“These investments in our community’s infrastructure are crucial for improving access and mobility, while also supporting economic development,” stated Brooks. She emphasized her satisfaction in collaborating with project applicants to secure assistance aimed at enhancing the quality of life and public safety for residents.
Wentling added, “These projects will help improve transportation quality for the people of the 7th Legislative District and these grants will be a major boost in getting them done.”
The approved projects are as follows:
- Sharon City is set to receive $626,370 for the East Silver Street Multimodal Improvements, which will enhance transportation options and promote multimodal connectivity.
- The City of Hermitage will obtain $150,000 for the LindenPointe Road Extension Project to improve access and traffic flow.
- St. Paul Homes will be granted $150,000 to construct a pedestrian bridge over Williamson Road, aiming to increase accessibility and safety for West Salem Township residents.
- Perry Township will utilize $100,000 in funding to replace a culvert on Plant Road, thereby enhancing road safety and infrastructure resilience.
These grants, issued through the Multimodal Transportation Fund by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, are intended to maintain a safe and dependable transportation system for Pennsylvania's residents.
