Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced today that the 7th Legislative District will receive more than $775,000 through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) “Green Light-Go” program.

Hermitage is set to receive nearly $430,000 for traffic signal updates at Broadway and Council avenues, as well as at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Mercer Avenue/Church Street/Emerson Avenue intersections.

Sharon will benefit from over $345,000 allocated for traffic signal improvements at Service, South Myers and Stambaugh avenues, in addition to Smith Avenue and Pine Hollow Boulevard.

“Green Light-Go grants are vital for helping traffic flow and making intersections safer for both drivers and pedestrians,” said Wentling.

The Green Light-Go grants are provided as reimbursement to municipalities for updates aimed at improving the efficiency and operation of existing traffic signals. These projects will be funded through the appropriation for fiscal year 2024-25.
