U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) has announced the commencement of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition. The competition is open to high school students in various counties within Pennsylvania, as specified by Rep. Kelly. Speaking about the competition, Kelly expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "The Congressional Art Competition is a great opportunity for students to showcase their talents and have their work displayed in the halls of the U.S. Capitol. We have so many wonderful and talented students across our Congressional district. I look forward to seeing all of the submissions. I encourage everyone who is interested to participate!"

Artwork submissions must be made to one of Representative Kelly's district offices by April 5, 2024. An awards ceremony is scheduled for May 3, with details regarding the location and time to be announced later. Those interested can find more information about the contest's rules and regulations on Rep. Kelly's website.

In the previous year's competition, Abigail Gardner of Hickory High School in Hermitage, Pa., emerged as the winner. The winning artwork from each Congressional district will be exhibited in the Cannon House Office Building Tunnel at the U.S. Capitol complex for 11 months. The Congressional Art Competition, sponsored by the Congressional Institute, aims to promote arts and culture among high school students.

Rep. Kelly has also released a video encouraging high school students in the 16th Congressional District to participate in the 2024 Congressional Art Competition.
