Feb. 15, 2024 - The Lawrence Mercer Manufacturers Coalition (LMMC) has been awarded a grant of $235,786 by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, according to an announcement made by Representative Parke Wentling (R-Mercer). The LMMC, a partnership between several manufacturers in Mercer and Lawrence counties, aims to collaborate with schools and community organizations to promote the manufacturing careers available in the region.

"The Lawrence Mercer Manufacturers Coalition is doing an important job by showing the next generation what we are manufacturing here and equipping them with the skills they need to live and work in our community," said Representative Wentling.

The grant has been awarded through the Industry Partnership program, which encourages businesses in different sectors to work together to address education and training needs, support economic development, coordinate regional support teams, identify community resources, and promote collaborative initiatives.

This funding will enable the LMMC to further its mission of showcasing the opportunities in the manufacturing sector and equipping individuals with the necessary skills for success in these careers.

The Lawrence Mercer Manufacturers Coalition has been actively engaged in promoting manufacturing careers and industry collaboration in Mercer and Lawrence counties. With this grant, the coalition will be able to expand its efforts and reach an even wider audience.
