Bread made with simple ingredients | Diocese of Erie
The German city of Dresden celebrates Christmas every year with a market known as Streizelmarkt. The most famous dish sold at this market is called Stollen, or Christollen. It’s a bread made with simple ingredients to represent the humbleness of the first Christmas, and its shape is a symbol of Jesus wrapped in swaddling clothes. Michelle DiFranco shares her own recipe for Christollen in this syndicated article from the national office of Faith magazine.
