THIEL COLLEGE: Thiel Players hosting production of “Comedy in the Time of COVID”

Volunteer

Thiel College issued the following announcement.

The Thiel Players’ presentation of “Comedy in the Time of COVID” at the William A. Robinson Theater will be live-streamed by TCTV on its YouTube channel at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Three one-act plays comprise the performance.

  • “A Matter of Husbands” features Brianne Coatsworth ’24 and Alissa Thames ’24.
  • Kinsey Lowers ’24, Nathaniel Meth ’23, Michaela Brown ’22, and Roy (Trey) Wilt ’23 perform in the second act, “The Sequel.”
  • “A Marriage Proposal” with Sylvia Patterson ’23, Ian Miller ’22, and Wilt is the final act.
The Players also have Friday and Saturday night performances scheduled, but no seats are available for the live presentations.

Coatsworth, Thames and Lowers are first-year students who did not perform on stage in high school and are making their stage debuts in this performance.

“I am extremely proud of the eight students who are part of these productions. They have dealt with a compressed academic schedule as well as a two-week gap in scheduled rehearsals due to the pandemic flare-up in October,” Adjunct Professor of Theater and interim theater director Paul Miller ’69 said. “They have enabled us to keep the theater’s lights on—a credit to both them and the College.”
