Cost of college went up for all students at the Laurel Technical Institute

Tuition and fees rose 1.9 percent for 2018-19 at the Laurel Technical Institute, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Pennsylvania students paid $10,104 to attend the two-year private for-profit institution this year – $190 more than the $9,914 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 90 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 41 students received grants or scholarships totaling $263,928 and 37 students took out student loans totaling more than $241,199.

Including all undergraduates (168), 145 students used grants or scholarships totaling $1.1 million, and 116 students took out $663,966 in federal student loans.
