During a ceremony held in Sharon, U.S. Representative Mike Kelly announced the winners of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for Pennsylvania’s 16th Congressional District. The top prize was awarded to Jeffrey Deniker from Mercer Area High School. The event took place at the Hope Center for Arts & Technology.

“Our office received so many wonderful submissions from students throughout the 16th Congressional District this year. I want to congratulate this year’s winners for their outstanding achievements. I also want to thank the teachers and parents who helped to make this year’s competition possible. We have so many talented students here in Western Pennsylvania,” stated Rep. Kelly.

The winners announced are as follows:

1st place: Jeffrey Deniker, Mercer Area High School

2nd place: Makenzi Emick, Franklin Area High School

3rd place: Anna Logue, Hickory High School

Honorable Mention: Damir Trawick, Hickory High School

The Congressional Art Competition is an annual event that invites high school students from across the United States to submit their artwork, with the winning pieces displayed in the Cannon House Office Building Tunnel at the U.S. Capitol complex for nearly a year. Sponsored by the Congressional Institute, the competition aims to encourage and promote arts and culture among high school students.
