22 years ago, we found out our two older boys had a genetic kidney disease. This disease would end up destroying their kidneys and leaving both boys needing a kidney transplant at the age of five and a half (the boys are 14 months apart in age). In 2001 I (Patty) was able to donate a kidney to our oldest son. One year one month and two days later, our second son Joshua was needing a kidney transplant. Boe was able to donate his kidney to our son. Now almost 20 years later, Joshua needs another kidney transplant.

Unfortunately, what we were able to do for our boys once we cannot do again. First and foremost, we are asking for your prayers, that Joshua finds a donor so that he can enjoy life as a 25-year-old should. He is an amazing young man with a bright future. Secondly, if you or anyone you know has ever considered being a living donor, Joshua could really use the help.

Anyone interested may register online at

LivingDonorReg.upmc.com and enter his name as

the recipient: Joshua Babcanec

(His name must be spelled correctly)

Phone: (412) 647-GIFT (4438)

Thank you for your kind consideration!
