Mike Kelly, a U.S. Congressman representing Pennsylvania’s 16th district since 2011, has recently made several public statements on his social media account. Born in Pittsburgh in 1948 and an alumnus of the University of Notre Dame, Kelly currently resides in Butler.

On March 12, 2025, Kelly expressed his pleasure at welcoming President Joe Biden and Ireland’s Taoiseach Micheál Martin to Capitol Hill for the annual Congressional Friends of Ireland Caucus luncheon. He stated: “It was great to welcome @POTUS and His Excellency Micheál Martin, Taoiseach of Ireland, to Capitol Hill today for our annual Congressional Friends of Ireland Caucus luncheon.”

Two days later, on March 14, 2025, he highlighted his conversation with the American Federation for Children Press about educational access. He tweeted: “Great to speak with @afcpress about the importance of making sure every child has access to the education that is best for them.”

Later that day, he announced the introduction of new legislation focused on health care choices. He wrote: “This week, I introduced the Health Care Sharing Ministry Tax Parity Act with @RepGregMurphy and Rep. Chris Smith.”
