Rep. Mike Kelly, a long-standing member of the U.S. Congress representing Pennsylvania’s 16th District, has recently shared thoughts on pressing national issues via his social media, discussing topics from federal spending to immigration policies. Kelly, who has served in Congress since 2011, has been an active voice in debates concerning American jobs and the nation’s socio-economic structure.

On April 27, 2025, Kelly tweeted “Our federal spending, American jobs, and the American way of life should not be a red issue or a blue issue. They are red, white, and blue issues.” In the post, Kelly emphasizes the bipartisan nature of economic and social issues, reiterating the need for unified national priorities. He mentions that his op-ed is featured in the Erie Times-News.

A couple of days later, on April 29, 2025, Kelly addressed actions taken by President Trump in his first 100 days in office, stating: “In just his first 100 days, President Trump has: – Cracked down on illegal immigration – Compared to March 2024, Southwest border apprehensions have decreased by 94% and Northern border land encounters have decreased by 73%. – Expanded American energy production – Secured.” Kelly outlines the initiatives aimed at immigration control and increased energy production, which have reportedly resulted in significant decreases in border apprehensions.

On the same day, Kelly shared another tweet celebrating his recognition as one of City & State Pennsylvania’s Power 100. He expressed his gratitude, stating: “It’s an honor to once again be named as one of @CityAndStatePA’s Power 100! It is a privilege to work for the great people of Pennsylvania’s 16th Congressional District every day.” This recognition highlights his influence and commitment to his constituents.

Kelly, 74, originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a University of Notre Dame alumnus, continues to reside in Butler. He has maintained his role in Congress, succeeding Kathy Dahlkemper back in 2011.
