Rep. Parke Wentling announced that AWARE, a Mercer County organization, will receive $395,156 in grant funding to assist homeless individuals in the area. The funds will be allocated for housing searches and counseling, transportation, case management, financial assistance costs, and short- to medium-term rent support.

“This grant will support AWARE’s goals to help those struggling with homelessness across Mercer County. They do fantastic work, and the funding will be put to good use immediately,” said Wentling.

The Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) is providing this grant as part of its HOME-American Rescue Plan Supportive Services Program and the HOME-American Rescue Plan Non-Congregate Shelter Program.
